This post is aiming to inform our delegators about recent changes we have needed to make. Thank you for your understanding but first let me explaim:
One sidenote without any further explaination: We fully left steem and we are only operating on hive from yesterday on. If you want an explaination please let us know and we will write a extra post about it.
current issues, resolutions and upcoming changes
Our service always advertised with "we will pay back 100% even the author rewards" and yes that sounds impossible without external funds coming in. I (@tibfox) am aware of that I need to pump hive and hbd into @diyhub to run thios service but I am absolutely fine with that. I am here to motivate and not to make any money - I dont care at all and want to use my hive to motivate other people to live a happy life by being creative. I see a big potential in our service and the economics behind even though we have needed to change something to fulfill our duties.

Since our recent big delegations we are running on around 30'000 HP with our service! The curators and I are very very happy about this. This big empowerment enables us to provide a valuable upvote for all the amazing creators out there filling our blockchain with creative content every day. But honestly, we came into problems of paying out the rewards to our delegators because we didn't had enough liquid hive. We have such a high voting value that we haven't been able to maintain the payout on a daily basis but I gathered HIVE from several sources (@tibfox steem/hive, @diytube's steem/hive accounts, some steem-engine and steemmonsters sells from @tibfox and so on) and I payed out our delegators manually yesterday.
The payout problem itself came from another little bug within the distribution of our diy tokens. They are payed out as well proportional to the percentage of your delegation to the total delegation.
But if the amount of DIY Token you should receive is very very small the bot ran into an exception and stopped. I workarounded that now with an additional try-catch-block and soon I will make sure everyone will receive at least 0.001 DIY Token 2 times a week.

But back to topic:
So I managed to pay out all of our delegators manually yesterday - 118 hive in total (around 12$ or something like that)
Here is the calculation I made based on the delegators who did not received the payout within the last 10 days and the total incomed rewards:
this calculation resulted in those transactions:
The reason for the liquidity problems we are running into is, that our powerdown is too slow for a save amount of liquid HIVE in our wallet to pay out everything we earn. To have more liquids in our wallet from our powerdowns we decided to keep the author rewards from our recurring curation reports and additional announcements like the one you are reading right now. That will result in a better balance to ensure the payout.
The amount of content is something we can control every day and a short update video, a video call show, a detailed description, a creator showcase and all that stuff is manageable if we just find the time.

In the next days I will change the following things on the automation side:
1. add code to support a "non-payout-delegator"
If you do not want a payout you can give us a message or a comment. We would by happy if you support us and our liquidity but we do not expect anyone to say so :)
2. claiming accounts every day
Because of the big delegations we will be able again to claim accounts automatically. DiyTube onboarded 5 new users to steem and we are looking forward to onboard new users to hive with those claimed accounts.
3. paying out the curation rewards
The curation rewards are currently the majority of our incoming rewards. The author rewards will be used to stay liquid and to have some buffer if we hit big curation rewards. We will produce more content to get a better liquid stock of hive for paying out the HP made from curation rewards. This will also happen by releasing our contests and recurring shows. Currently we are preparing a roadmap for those sideevents.
4. the payout will happen biweekly instead of daily
This will save us some CPU-power
5. methods to document our rewards will be more detailed
Right now we are only documenting the rewards as total. From friday on we will document author rewards and curation rewards splitted in our mysql database for later reviews, announcements and so on.
6. dynamic power downs
We are going to automatically start / stop powerdowns to have all the time the maximum amount of hive we receive. Right now we are waiting for one powerdown to happen and that keeps unneccesare HP in our wallet.
The changes will take place over the rest of this week and the payout-stop for author rewards will get activated on friday this week. We are thankful for your understanding! If you have any suggestion which can help us to make the service more sutstainable and simple operatable - please let us know!
Thanks for reading until here! You are amazing and without you this blockchain would be not that awesome and diversive as it is right now!
Much greetings, stay save and healthy,
@tibfox for @diyhub

We are based on a bot script but driven by human decisions. Thank you to our curation team:

This is service is 100% non-profit!
all of our curation rewards are going directly back to the delegators via weekly payouts! HP is payed out in HIVE! So feel free to support us with your delegation and earn passive income: 25 HP | 50 HP | 100 HP | 250 HP | 500 HP | 1000 HP
- Also feel free to join our official DIYHub community on Hive! and share your posts there!
Yay! DIY!
I am excited for the new updates and good job on those changes!
I know my delegation is small potatoes compared to others but Iβm happy to give it and not receive payouts. I understand the difficulties in having liquid on hand to pay out is tough, so one less payout is needed!
oh thank you dear @cmplxty :) Me @tibfox will also turn off the payout for my acc so we are two in the team!
You're welcome! Over time, the delegation from me will increase but not until I am able to attain more curation rewards and increase my SP holdings. It is steadily going up thankfully, but I want to continue that before I start delegating more out.
Niiice :)
I also recently changed the code so we can set individual payout percentages. So if you still want to earn 50% just let me know :)
@tibfox please start paying me just 90% of my share.
Heyy @alabasterdigital! Thanks for your input and offer :) I can add a percentage payout for sure! Will let you know as soon as I added this to the bot :) Thanks a lot for your great delegation by the way! We are rly proud that our work is being recognised and that we can support creators with such a big upvote value!
Peace!
I executed the code change and set your payout to 90% :) Thanks again for the input, improvement and your delegation :)
Thank you for the info, and for the support, I received on my post.
You're welcome :)
Well I will like to decline my payouts for delegating.
Keep up the good work
Great buddy! I also changed the code so we can set individual payout percentage. So if you still want to earn 50% just let me know :)
Do what's best
And thank you for all that you do <33@tibfox... I trust you
