Breakdown of Expenses:
Accommodation:
Since Tingloy island is a virgin island, there are no established hotels. Instead, the locals are offering homestay/transient services for a standard rate of Php 300.00 per night, inclusive of electricity and water for bathing. You can also cook and use their utensils. Other homestays are also offering wifi and videoke services. The pitching of tent is also allowed at the beach. Don't worry there are nearby toilets where you can pee or bath, for Php 10.00.
-Php 300.00 x 2 nights= Php 600.00
Island Hopping:
The rate for island hopping is Php 1500.00 for a minimum of four persons so the more the merrier and cheaper. The island hopping usually lasts for 3 hours where you will visit the lagoon, caves, and islands. Snorkeling is also inclusive in the package.
-Php 1500.00/2= PHP 700.00
Sumbrero island
Swimming in the cave
Snorkeling
Beach
The beach is free from entrance fee. However, you have to pay Php 30.00 for environmental fee.
-Php 30.00
Food:
Please take note that the island is an hr away from Batangas mainland, so it is important to buy your own food prior to your trip. In our case since we are only a couple, we bought Php 500.00 worth of groceries supplies, rice, and drinking water.
-Php 500.00/2= Php 250.00
GRAND TOTAL: Php 2, 176.00/pax.
Tips:
*Schedule your beach outing on weekdays so that you can enjoy the island on your own. Since our trip was held on weekends, the crowd is so big.
*It is important to contact your preferred homestay prior to your trip. I personally recommend Kuya Jeff Bisa, since their quality of service is so great. You may contact him at 09552985609.
*You can also do hiking, just negotiate with the locals there for guides.
*Enjoy and leave nothing behind but footprints :)
