Japan's outside pastor has told the BBC that he has been advising the two forthcoming Conservative pioneers to stay away from a no-bargain Brexit.
Taro Kono told the Today program that he knew Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt "great" and had let them know in gatherings, "please no-bargain Brexit".
He said exchange talks couldn't occur until the UK leaves the EU.
Japanese firms were "worried" about the ramifications of the UK leaving the EU without an arrangement, he said.
Addressing the BBC in front of the up-coming G20 meeting in Osaka, he said he had encouraged both Mr Hunt - the current outside secretary - and his antecedent, Mr Johnson, to give clearness on Brexit.
"At whatever point we had a gathering, that was one of the serious issues - if it's not too much trouble no-bargain Brexit," he said.
