Holy Crap! Why Is This Iceberg So Weird and Square?

This looks fake but it is a real iceberg that broke off the Larsen C ice shelf.  It is amazing the perfectly square looking sides and the sharp corners, it really looks fake. The mechanics of the calving makes sense to me since the ice was floating on the water attached to the ice shelf so that is why it has a large, constant depth and levelness to the surface. If this was a berg that had come from off of the land mass it would not have the same shape at all.

 

Nature sure does create some wild sights.

It IS like a torch cut piece of metal. I keep thinking it looks like a stack of printer paper.
