K-pop undeniably captures the world as even their songs are not usually English, they gained many fans, and many of them are non-Koreans. It is pretty rare for Asians to gain fans globally as mostly English songs and Western artists are preferred for global audience, but K-pop acts are well-received.

K-pop success

We saw how K-pop became popular. Wonder Girls' *Nobody* became a big hit in Asia, and had a Billboard Hot 100 placement. Late 2000s K-pop has been doing very well in Asian countries like Super Junior, 2NE1, Girls Generation, and other K-pop acts which were introduced afterwards.

Gangnam Style

Of course, *Gangnam Style* became the first K-pop top 10 hit in Billboard Hot 100, and still remains the biggest selling and the most popular K-pop song. That's because of the humor attached on the song's music video, as well as the catchy tune. However, it made a mark, and somewhat helped to establish K-pop to global audience.

The song though, is at the lower part of the list of Billboard's 100 Best K-pop songs.

Wonder Girls' Nobody not on the list

I was wondering why *Nobody* is not on the list considering its success, as well as being a catchy song, and a groundbreaking song for K-pop. It should have been on the list.

2NE1

2NE1 only had two songs on the list, but they should have more. I remember some of their great tunes are not even on the list  But at least, *I Am The Best* is at a good position.

Super Junior

K-pop boy bands has been huge now, but we saw their international success first with Super Junior. On the list, Super Junior was only with one song. Looking for *Sorry, Sorry*, but it was not on the list.

Girls Generation

These girls are extremely popular then, and they earned some songs on the list. The song *Genie* is not on the list though. I remember that song sounds like a rip-off of *Don't Stop the Music* by Rihanna.

BTS and Blackpink

BTS had multiple songs on the list, but I expected a higher position for them, considering they are the most successful K-pop boy band in the history. They don't even have their biggest international hits on the list.

The same goes with Blackpink, who is the biggest K-pop girl band at the moment, who didn't have a song in the top 10 list.
