Technology is evolving very fast but the security of technology seems like a snail trying to catch a gazelle. Every time a new product or service appears, hackers find the security flaws and exploits very fast. I like to test new technology but I don't want to become a test subject for new technology, if you catch my grip.
In this article, the freelance writer Ionut Ilascu tells us about the dangers of the assistant devices from Amazon and Google but there's nothing you can do to protect yourself from these security dangers. It's up to both of the companies to recode the devices and test them better before launching them to the market.
Unless the two companies take measures to improve the review process and the restrictions for apps integrating with their smart devices, malicious developers could exploit the weakness to capture audio from users.
The main dangers of these devices right now are Eavesdropping and Password Stealing. There are a few YouTube links in the article explaining this:
Amazon Alexa Eavesdropping
Google Home Eavesdropping
Amazon Alexa Phishing
Google Home Phishing
I don't use any of these devices and I don't intend to try them unless Amazon and Google fix their problems. The world is already too dangerous. I don't need more problems than those I already have.

We, consumers, are the modern day beta testers. Almost Every company does it nowadays.
i think you forgot to include the links. i agree tho they are really creepy, especially since they are not telling u what happens with ur data. thats why the scandal that actual people not computers listen to many of the speech comands...
also there are cases that can get u into trouble when alexa turns the music on when you are not home... can you turn on someone elses alexa by blasting a speech command at an inaudible frequency over to someones alexa without anyone noticiing?
The links are there. It must be a bug. I'll see if I can fix it later. Thanks for telling me.
Maybe. I don't trust these things.
Feeling very glad about my decision to stay as fa as I can from those smart speakers.
It's best to wait until it's more secure.
