The world of social media can show the darker side of humanity.

Sean Clifford, quarterback of the Penn State football team, deleted his social media account after receiving death threats.  This came after the loss to Minnesota a couple weeks ago.

He says he usually turns off his account closer to games but he decided to delete the account altogether.

Public athletes face a lot of harassment than before social media.  Unfortunately, fans feel they can say anything on social media.  This is a situation where a lack of accountability causes a great deal of bad behavior.

Athletes have an awful time with social media and threats from the public. It is a sad state with how many people act.
