Ruturaj Gaikwad fell one short of a ton but he did enough to ensure India A clinch the five-match series 4-1 with an eight-wicket win over West Indies A in the fifth and final unofficial ODI in Antigua. Set 237 to win, the openers - Gaikwad and Shubman Gill - scored 110 as India's top three struck half-centuries to polish off the chase in 33 overs.

After opting to bat, West Indies got off to a solid start as the openers scored 77 for the first wicket. However, once Kjorn Ottley was dismissed, they soon slipped to 101 for 5 and handed India the advantage. Sunil Ambris fought hard and scored 61 while Sherfane Rutherford made 65 to push the total past 200. Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini and Deepak Chahar bagged two wickets each to keep things in check in what turned out to be a clinical performance.

In the chase, once Gill fell for 69, Shreyas Iyer collaborated with Gaikwad to score another 112 to shut the door on the hosts. Iyer remained unbeaten on 61 and saw the side cross the line with Manish Pandey, who made seven.

Brief scores: West Indies A 236 in 47.4 overs (Sherfane Rutherford 65; Navdeep Saini 2-31) lost to India A 237/2 (Ruturaj Gaikwad 99) by eight wickets.
