PARIS: Novak Djokovic's fruitful guard of his Wimbledon crown guaranteed that the Serb stayed at world number one in the most recent ATP rankings discharged on Monday.
The 32-year-old gathered his fifth Wimbledon title and sixteenth major on Sunday with an exciting five-set win over Roger Federer, a match that kept going three minutes shy of five hours.
He is currently 4,500 clear of second-positioned Rafa Nadal who is only 485 in front of 37-year-old Federer.
The greatest climber is Roberto Bautista Agut whose ride to the semi-finals, where he lost in four sets to Djokovic, sees him rise nine spots to 13, equalling his best positioning.
David Goffin, who lost to Djokovic in the quarters, comes back to the Main 20, rising five spots to eighteenth.
