I really don't see facebook going anywhere. People still use it. They don't care about their data being taken, they don't care that they are manipulated (though I don't think they even really believe that they are capable of being manipulated. Everyone agrees that everyone else are the ones who fall for manipulation... "never would I be able to be manipulated, only the dumb people, specifically those who don't agree with me politically.").

The only way facebook does is if the younger generation heads somewhere else. The average older person doesn't understand. Weirdly you'd think it would be them that would care about these issues. The few younger people that still have and use facebook accounts do so to interact with their less tech savvy and forward thinking family members. But, you see, they still have those open accounts.

Its sorta like the oldies hanging onto America Online, except to interact with them you to would need to have an America Online account thereby giving up your info.

This doesn't even get into the amount of non Americans who dont care about any of this, and act like the internet is Facebook.
