This was one of those days for the books. Look at the picture, where would you land?
The temperature out side was perfect. The wind direction was perfect. And there were groups of people up in the air.
I don't know how any sport can compare to paragliding.
So today, I am going to take a couple shots at top landing and work on my wing overs.
A wing over is one of the most under estimated maneuvers that a paraglider pilot has in his bag of tools. Wing overs are used to get your self down in a rapid way without being too dangerous.
The only problem is, if you do it wrong, you can take a collapse and end up in a situation.
When would someone need to do a wing over?
The wing over is great to use when you are in the air, not so high, and you are setting up for the landing. A situation where you need to burn off a little altitude. Another reason for the wing over compared to a spiral down, is that you maintain a heading for the most part. Maintaining a heading is critical when you are dealing with wind and you are not wanting to land down wind.
