One of the worst things that can happen paragliding is when you land in the bushes in front of your friends.
The other worst thing that can happen is when you are can't find thermals and you end up landing down at the bottom of the hill. Especially when the rest of the guys you are flying with are in the air.
There was a point where I said, that's it, I am going to land at the bottom. There is no way I can make it back up to the launch.
The worst part about that happening was that if I did land at the bottom, I would have had to hike with an extra 5L of water. I was flying this flight at the top of my weight range so that I could experience the full effects of how my gilder handles under load.
I have had numbers of pilots tell me that its a good idea to fly at the top of the gilders weight so I had to try it.
I felt like it was harder for me to stay in the thermals. I think it was because I was flying faster with the extra weight.
Thanks for watching!
