RE: YouTube is Dying and I've Got the Data to Prove It. | Q1 '18 Streaming Platform Report

YouTube killed television.
So, to kill youtube you have to make something greater than Tv and youtube. It's probably not possible. Thanks for making this article.
BTW, after one year on youtube and with 2700 subscribers, i transefer fully to twitch and started everything from scratch. Twitch is just so much better for live streaming and earning money.
What do you think about Dlive? Is it gonna be the third dude in this livestreaming fight between yt ant twitch?

Sort:

YouTube killed TV with pre-recorded content yes, but we are in the starting phases of live content killing pre-recorded content. In many peoples eyes (including industry leaders) live streaming is the next big thing for video consumption, so TV > YouTube > Live Streams.

Definitely agree with your comment regarding Twitch.

I think DLive is an interesting one. The potential for monetization and consistent earnings per stream is unlike any other platform, but there are a few challenges that must be overcome first. I think it's a must use platform for a streamer, but if we're being honest, platforms like Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube will beat it for engagement any day of the week.
