Fellow Steemians,
As many of my friends and followers know, i'm a gamer on playstation 4 which has been struggling with the fact that it can't directly stream to DLive.
For a long time, i've wanted to stream my daily gaming content on DLive from my playstation. In my search for sollutions, i've found out that most people were using PS4's remote control application. This way they can connect to their ps4's using their PC. Unfortunately, this method will result in lag spikes and freezes with most games.
After brain-storming alot i have thought of another way to do it, it might be a ghetto way of doing things but it works. All i care about now is that it works. I have tested it today on DLive, as a first time streamer on DLive it was hard for me to get everything working with OBS. But in the end, everything was fine. Let me tell you all about it.
What you need
A console that allows you to stream to any platform (PS4 allows twitch/youtube)
A pc or laptop
A GOOD internet connection
How-to
Start up a stream on Twitch or Youtube using your Playstation 4, you can do this by pressing the "share" button on your controller. This will bring you on a screen where you will get instructions on how to start streaming. It does require you to make an account on either Twitch or Youtube.
Go to https://www.dlive.io on your PC or laptop and sign up or log in. Click on "Go Live" at the top right side of your screen.
On the bottom right side of your screen you will find "Encoder authentication". You need this info to set up OBS.
Go to https://obsproject.com/ and download OBS on your PC or laptop. Start up OBS and click on "file" and then on "settings". Click on "Stream" and select "Custom stream type" at the stream type option. Copy paste the url and stream key that DLive has provided you. Check the box next to "use authentication" and fill in the username and password that DLive has provided you. You can find these on the DLive page.
Click apply and go to the main screen of OBS. Click on the + symbol below "Sources" and select "Display Capture". Click on Ok and go back to the main screen.
Now start your stream on DLive and wait around 15 seconds, after that go and click "Start streaming" on the right bottom side of OBS. This will start your stream.
Go to your stream on either Twitch or Youtube and open it in full screen. You are now streaming your own stream to DLive. There will be a delay of about 1.5 minutes.
Some problems you might encounter
This method will work best for people living in the USA since the servers of DLive are located in the USA. People from Europe might experience lag spikes and freezes for 1 to 5 seconds or longer. I had these when i tried streaming while using a WIFI connection. After plugging in a cable there were no more freezes or quality loss. If you keep experiencing problems with freezes, try to lower the bitrate. I was using 1500 bitrate with my cable plugged in and it was working fine.
Twitch and Youtube might have ads on the stream you place there, make sure you stream without ads. If i'm correct you won't get adds on Twitch if you are subscribed to that persons channel. Nobody likes ads and i don't think DLive will allow it either.
Make sure to mute your microphone/sounds on your PC or you will hear everything double on stream.
I hope this helped
I hope this helped other gamers like me who were struggling with this mather. I didn't need to be a genius to figure this out but i didn't see anyone else doing it before. I feel proud for figuring it out and i'm also proud to share it with everyone. The more people it helps, the happier i will become. So if you leave a comment, i will greatly appreciate it.
Have fun streaming!

TL;DR - Stream your console game to Youtube / Twitch, use OBS to stream the stream to DLive.

Kudos for coming up with the post, though!
I wanted to call it Streamception but i chose for a better explaining title. Thanks alot mate!
Great and helpful... I was also struggling in the same phase... Thanks to you buddy... U r really very helpful. It proved a lot a help. Thank u.
Great to hear that it helped you. Let me know if you get your streams up in the future, i'd love to see it.
Yeah I will let u know. Sure
dtube is too slow
If i noticed :c
I had no realized you could use the Playstation
Nice
Very very cool! Thank you! I use OBS to stream anyway (using Hauppauge! external capture) but I like the way you proposed this setup. This allows me to stream to DLive through PC/OBS externally while still being able to choose to stream to Twitch/Youtube natively through PS4's XMB. Added Benefit: Streaming to Twitch/Youtube in conjunction with streaming through OBS should engage the PS4's built in encoder, so I believe your notifications will also come out on your DLive stream blurred out too. Brilliant post, Thank you!
