One of my favorite things about living in California is exploring different farmer’s markets. There is always an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables. While visiting Santa Barbara with @acromott, we stumbled upon a local farmer’s market. I was delighted to check it out!

Like @teamsteem said in his post A Health Walk in North America’s Oldest Commercial District, “Health is the very basis of life.” Nutrition and what you put in your body will affect your long-term health.

Shopping at a local farmer’s market provides you access to some of the freshest fruits and vegetables. I love knowing that these produces were picked fresh. These produces have not been sitting in the grocery story for days. They are the best you can get. Plus, it feels good to support local farmers. They work hard to feed and take care of us!

Are those carrots...jumbo sized....:)

Heheh! I loved how they were purple!

@karensuestudios, getting the fruits when they're still fresh is the best way to eat healthy fruits. Often times, the market closest to me have fruits that have even taken days to be transported to the shops, and by the time they get here, there freshness has been lost.

This is a serious challenge here where Iive.

I love going to the farmer's market. Many of the items are fresh.

I like to go to the local market, in Thailand so many things are very cheap there, too! Miss you Karen!

Ahh the tropical fruit in Thailand is amazing.

Purple carrots are awesome, but so are purple potatos! Oregon has some amazinggg farmer's markets too! Can you believe I've never been to Cali? I almost want to avoid it on purpose just because it's so ridiculous that I haven't been there that it kind of makes me laugh.

Omg speaking of Oregon, I’m on a flight to Portland as we speak!

Omg you NEED to let me show you around!

Wait!?!! You are in Portland right now?

I wish! I was there all last year... Where were you then?!?!? Haha. I wanna show you around in real life omg it would be the coolest. I love showing people around, but extra if it's you. I'm in Vietnam now

Farmer markets are the best. Although, we do find the produce to be overpriced, but we know the farmers are just trying to make a living. It's all about economics of scale! We try our best to support local farmers where we can. In Asia, there are loads of fresh markets, but Sam's mum usually gets up early to do the shopping, so we miss out 😜

Awww! Hehe yes I agreee, depends which market you go to for sure. In Sacramento, there is one vendor that sells bags of vegetables for 1 dollar! It’s awesome! 😊

Well then we need to shop around in Sacramento more :) It only a couple of hours by plane ;)

We were used to $7 for 100 grams of marinated olives in London (England), but it was our once a week treat...

This is really awesome. I enjoyed the tour of the market. Was that a man or a woman blowing the huge pipe. I have seen something similar once from Yanni song.

Ahaha a women! It’s called a didgeridoo. It originated from Australia. :)

Ok. Thanks for the name and origin.
