Last may 19-20, 2018 we went to the highlands of Marilog particularly in Sitio Nangalid, Brgy Datu Salumay to give away school supplies for the children who were enrolled in Nangalid Elementary School. The settlers of Nangalid are the Matigsalugs - an Indigenous People of the Manobo tribe.
140+ kids were given school supplies that they will use this coming school year of 2018-2019. Apart from school supplies giving, we also did food sharing and a free hair cut session to the whole community as a thank you for welcoming us every time we visit the place.
The outreach program took place at the Happy Forest Kids shelter named Panayangan. Panayangan serves as an additional classroom and a mini-library that the children have free access to it.
This coming July 2018, we will be going back to Nangalid for a Medical Mission and another food sharing event for the community. :)
