This September we were told that our son and his class are going to participate in an experiment called "Music Class" that takes place in Provence, a region of France, where we live, and will be held in one public school chosen among all the public schools of the region. How did I feel about it back then? Well, "excited" would not be an appropriate word to describe all the emotions going on in my heart... The reason is I have always dreamt of being able to play an instrument and have never had a chance. So, finding out that my son will learn playing trombone during three years with the help of the best teachers of the region, haha, these news made me walking around all day on cloud nine. Interestingly, the children were going to learn playing instruments as a brass band from scratch skipping the theorethical part almost entirely so that by June they are able to give their first performance.
When I tried to play trombone myself, no sound would come out no matter how hard I tried, and those children had to actually play music insted of random sounds having just one lesson per week.
Honestly, all the parents say good things about their little ones, sometimes exaggerating, I'm surely one of them, but what I saw on a stage that day was over my expectations, my husband have prepared a pair of earplugs for he has very sensitive ears, but didn't need to use them))))))
Well, you can listen to them yourself, keeping in mind that they had about 35 hours in total to learn playing those challenging instruments you are seeing!
