Access to guns in America is easy by virtue of scale. There are more of them here than there are people. Which, ironically, hamstrings both sides of this. Legal gun owners are so numerous that several thousand of them will have disturbed children who can access them. A BAN on guns will involve such a massive grandfathering of weapons already owned that several million will enter black market channels. We've made our bed, now we have to lie in it.
