I hope to eventually earn my income by writing novels. I advertise and make promotional material for social media sites, specifically Steemit and Minds. It can be a bit discouraging when my book hasn't really sold any more than a handful of copies, but I've only just started, and the feedback I have received has been encouraging at least.
The tough part is sticking with it despite not making anything substantial in the short term, but I completely expected that. My book merely existing does not mean I deserve an audience, it's on me to market my work to be successful. That is what I use Steemit and Minds for, and any small monetary benefits from building an audience on these platforms is just a bonus in my mind. I'm more interested in building and joining communities that actually like my work, because that's long term success.
Are you in @thewritersblock Discord?
They have a great community for writers.
And I hear you, I know all about how hard it is to market creative works.
I am not. Do you have a link, or a place I can find a link? I don't use discord often, but I still occasionally hop on to check in with people and stay connected as much as I can.
here you are @rhethypo Writers Block https://discord.gg/tT4PA46 ...

Thanks Shadows!
