RE: Crypto 101- Terminology

in #dlive7 years ago

You made one mistake in your definitions. Vaporware ... Is something that does not yet exist. Like the lightning network was refereed to as vaporware because although everyone was talking about it, no one could use it or point to anyone who had because... it did not yet exist and therefore had no "substance" Coins that are called vaporware are the exact same thing. They don't ACTUALLY exist yet are not listed on any exchanges and are not being traded. ico's fall under this category until they become real. It should be noted that the term is most often used to imply a scam or lie about a new coin or tech advancement. It is used to imply that what is being referred to does not exist and never will (but not always the last bit) . The term has little or nothing to do with intentions of devs (outside of those using it to imply the coin will never exist and the ico is a money grab where those running it will cut and run without actually launching a real coin) ... But a coin can exist... be traded and be real... but still fall flat of devs promises or intentions... this does not make the coin vaporware but "shitcoins" that's another flaw in your video... you said shitcoins and vaporware are "basically the same thing" ... No they are not .. as I explained above. ;)
