No. They did not. Confiscating the entire wealth of the top X percent (you choose X) of the people would not end poverty. "Poverty of outcome" cannot be ended because there will always be fools. But we might be able to end "poverty of opportunity".

Sounds like you have confiscation in mind. What else could you be thinking?

Well the world shouldn't even have to is what I meant by posting this they should want to help out there fellow man out of the goodness of there heart like everyone else does and if they all came together they could make a difference voluntarily...

We need to stop focusing on what rich people should do and start focusing on what WE should do. Leave the rich people alone. Respect their right to do whatever they want to do with their property. They have a role to play in working for change. But everyday people have all of the power that we need. We can do it without their help. We can do it even if some of them actively oppose change.
