Thanks for this article... Comparing Steemit with a lifestyle is great!

But .... I still ask myself, if this is so: "Yes, because this is a space of equal opportunity."

Because there are also people who can invest in Steem Power, because they are richer (in the old system) or have more influence...

Do you really think this is so?

What I meant by “equal opportunity” is that anybody can put in the time & energy to put out content, refine their skills, learn the rules of the game, and level up to build a following and rewards for the service they provide through the value delivered in their posts.

Yes, someone could invest millions in Steem Power and upvote themselves to earn greater rewards. But that’s irrelevant to the point.

The opportunity is to start from scratch. I did it. Others did it. And it could be argued that it might not have totally been “equal,” given we already brought years of writing skills and experience. But again, that’s beside the point - being, it’s an open platform where anyone can engage, improve, create value, improve, create value, and reap the rewards...
