With inflation running riot worldwide using fiat currency we would end up going to the shops with a wheel-barrow of money to pay (possible theft along the way)
Using cards was a great step forward in fiat currency, sadly bank fees went up alongside more inflation making the system of modern being developed on antiquated systems, enabling 'fat cats' getting rich.
Blockchain technology I do believe is the first good move made in decades, will support this idea not only in cryptocurrencies, contracts with other great inventions on the horizon.

Yes, the progression of money is heading to the digital asset and digital transfer system. My only concern right now is our power grid in the US. It is outdated and patched at best, and under constant cyber threat. No power, no servers, no internet to make transfer of digital assets possible concerns me.

As USA has built one of the first power grid systems in the world, I think your concerns are justified, but if go deeper into details, no power grid means not just no crypto for USA, but collapse of the country...collapse of the World.
So no worries, it can never happen!

Funny picture, maybe it does indeed show the future of currency - from paper to credit to cryptocurrency. And crypto does have advantages like traceability and transparency, which may help fight corruption. But because of that, maybe some powers don't want that...
History has shown that nobody can stop the technologies, so the new era is already in.
And cryptocurrency is taking this to another level, hope crypto will be used all over the world as primary method soon.

I would think we won't stop at cryptocurrency, next will be something wonderous, maybe not in our lifetimes, could it ever be the abolishment of wealth and for man-kind to all share a better lifestyle? Who knows.

It was not a linear transhumanism journey, but there was an influence by the Aliens ( aka Gods) touch somehow in the past. So depends what terminology we use.
