REAL LOVE IN A MIRROR

mirror-home.jpg

I fought this impermissible love with self-loathing & Hate.

Still, you stood by my side.

I sabotaged you, Spit on you, ran your name through the dirt. I Said too many reprehensible unforgiving words.

Still, You stood by my side.

Deflecting instead of reflecting. Reactive instead of proactive. Condemning instead of exonerating this love is a fail.

Still, You stood by my side.

Constantly berating you shaming you blaming you. I know deep down this is my own self-worth.

Still, You stood by my side.

Cheating lying manipulating down to physical abuse, This dysfunctional dance was well-Rehearsed .

Still, You stood by my side.

Alone and at rock bottom looking in this mirror their you are still standing by my side.

Slowly and subtly I say to myself. I love you thank you for believing in me!
Since we are one and you are me it's apparent I learned to love me.

Note:

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Learn to love thine self before you love someone else. If that person departs or vanishes you know you will be fine!
