Today I lost a friend. He had been with me since birth and he was 17 years old. I could tell that his little body was getting old and that he didn't have a lot of time. Yesterday something was different in his eyes. I sat by him and petted him and made sure he was happy. Then I went to bed. At 2:30 am I woke up and I had a feeling. I wanted to go and check on him but he was downstairs and if I would have went down there my other dog would have barked and woke up the baby. Only about thirty minutes passed before my dad came and told me that he had passed. I cried and went down and saw him. I closed his little eyes and pet his fur. I cleaned him all up and made a box to put him in. This morning we went and got shovels and in the pouring down rain we dug a grave right outback beside of the tree. I gently put him down and covered the hole up. In a month once everything is settled I will put his dog house on top of his grave. The dog house will be for any other dog that comes along and needs a dry place to stay or shelter for the night. No dog should be left outside under any circumstances. I learned that the hard way. Baby was so old and the last few months we brought him inside he was so happy. He lived a good life. Playing in the creek, chasing animals, playing, eating everything, and protecting us. He let us know if anything, leaves, included came into our yard. I will never forget my furry protector. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. I know one day I'll see him again, he just had to go first to figure out the way so that he could guide me once my time comes.
Rest in Paradice Baby Robins See you when I get there.
