The Booming Business Of Dogs

in #dog6 years ago

In 2018, American shelled out $72 billion on their pets; that’s over $1,300 a year, and around $120 per month. Even when the budget is tight, we spare no expense on our pets and this is good news for the economy.

Three out of four pet parents say they would make financial sacrifices for their fur babies if the situation called for it. Many would give up eating out at restaurants, taking a vacation, and even adding to retirement savings all in the name of caring for their pets. Still, one in three pets every year will require urgent vet care and surprise medical emergencies don’t exactly come cheap; even among the most common issues and procedures, pet owners pay thousands out of pocket. Instead of waiting around for disaster to strike, pet owners are taking the future into their own hands by prioritizing health from the very beginning. Over 80% of pet owners believe that high quality and nutritious pet food is the key to keeping pets healthy as more Americans opt for premium pet food. Pet health insurance is a fast growing industry and by 2022 it is expected to reach a value of $2 billion as it helps meet the demands and costs of procedures from eye conditions to kidney transplants.

We would do anything for our pets - here’s how pet lovers are doing the most to make sure their fuzzy loved ones are happy, healthy, and living the best life that possibly can in this infographic.
