Runa wanted to lift up her digging level and style, so..what better place to learn than a professional cave built up by digging-masters??
So I brought her to Porto Flavia.
Porto Flavia is a 1924 sea harbor, in the south west side of Sardinia. Its position and characteristics make it unique in the world, because it is suspended between sea and sky; It is located in the high cliff in front of Pan di Zucchero stack (132 meters), appears half way up and offers a breathtaking view on the sea around Pan di Zucchero.
Here miners worked on 2 overlapped tunnels; from the tunnel above came the extracted material, and in the tunnel below, thanks to a conveyor belt, the material was taken on by ships anchored far from the shore.
Runa is now finally a qualified digger and is making money teaching other dogs how to properly dig in the shore.
Hope you enjoyed reading our story, as much as Runa enjoyed her course!
