RE: Dogecoin moving up nice and steady

in #dogecoin7 years ago

One of my big aha-moments about crypto was when i learned that Dogecoin was getting a bigger and bigger market cap, even though the developers have not changed it much the last years .

The creator Jackson Palmer even sold off his coins.

The biggest lesson to take from this is that blockchain works. DOGECOIN is now in the hands of supply and demand, regardless of what its creator thinks or does.

There is an excellent radio show about this, I encourage you to listen to it on NPR Planet Money:

I will be writing more posts about this soon..

Thanks for the link, will have a look into that.

About one of the two creators of Dogecoin, Jackson Palmer. At some point the suggestion was made that he himself would have stated DOGE was just a joke and it should not have two cents value. Even though he himself seemed badly informed about the ongoing developement of Dogecoin.

The image that was constructed by wrongly quoting him and blowing it up beyond proportion create quite some bad rap for Dogecoin. And of course that drove the price down.

Blockchains like Dogecoin proved themself to have a real use though. And the developers ported it to the Bitcoin basecode. Which was already quite an effort. Also Segwit will be part of Dogecoin and so on.

So, what hit my by surprise was a recent, friendly, interview with the current Dogecoin developers. Done by... Jackson Palmer!?

Seems he still likes the fun one he helped creating.
