The Dogman, also known as the “Michigan Dogman,” has long been a debatable subject since it was brought to the forefront by Linda Godfrey. More questions have been prompted as a result of the increased interest in this creature. The majority of the Dogman occurences have come from Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan, although there have been encounters from other states. The most frequently asked question regarding the Dogman is what category of creature is it precisely. It has been described by many as a giant humanoid creature covered with hair with large pointed ears and a long pronounced snout traveling on two and four legs. It’s often said to have multiple parallels to that of the werewolf.
Since the popularity in Bigfoot, the Dogman phenomena has become much more commonly known through the paranormal community. Those in search of Bigfoot have also come in contact with the Dogman and also tales by Habituators (people who co-exist with Bigfoot and often give food to them) of having Dogman on their properties, as well. Traditionalists believe it's a man that has transformed into an animal (werewolf). They see the phenomena as something either psychological (man acting as wolf in some lycanthropic mental illness) or a curse or disease that makes men wild.
More efforts are being made to investigate and research the Dogman phenomenon (iamdarkwaters is a great one). Many people are skeptical about the creatures existence because of the lack of scientific evidence. They think the creature is nothing more than a myth. Some people also think that Dogman may be some paranormal or mythical beast.
Modern-day reports and sightings of this mysterious creature are becoming more mainstream. This will hopefully shed some light on the nature of its existence. Iamdarkwaters will continue to follow the search for Dogman and feature as many new reports, sightings, and evidence as possible.
