Can dogs eat popcorn?
Yes. Popcorn can be given to your dogs as a rare treat every now and then.
Plain, unsalted popcorn in moderation can in some aspects be seen as a positive addition to your dog’s diet.
What’s so good about plain, unsalted popcorn? It has fiber and several minerals that are beneficial to dogs, such as zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, and manganese. Not really something extra that is not yet in the dogfood that they are eating, but they sure enjoy it !
Always make sure that it is the plain, no salt, no butter, fully popped popcorn - no kernals as this can be harmful.
I bought a gluten free brand at our local vetshop (no kernals) and my dogs absolutely loved it. That said, they only get this once every few months - not as an everyday treat !
