BARF Basics for Beginners
At first it may seem complicated, difficult to feed, but it can come in very quickly and our enthusiasm is only enhanced by the joy we see every day when our puppy prepares food!
Then the first "feedback" from our favorite comes within a few days. The amount of poop is decreasing, the smell will not be old anymore, you can smell the nutritious poop on the streets ...The so-called normal dog smell is disappearing, the tartar is peeling off, Our favorite is out of energy and I could list…
But what really matters is that in the long run, raw dogs have an insurmountable advantage over nutritionists. The veterinarian should only be visited when the compulsory vaccinations have been carried out…
What is the daily dose?
Adult: 2-4% of body weight. (It is worth starting with 2.5%, later this amount will be adjusted to your puppy depending on how active he is and how fast his metabolism is).
At least 3 to 4 kinds of animal protein should be present in the diet, IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE !! Be sure to include red meat and fish once a week.
Red meat: Beef, Lamb, Goat, Wild rabbit, Deer, Deer, Ostrich, Horse, Reindeer
PROHIBITED: Pigs, Wild boar should not be given raw !!!
Meat from other carnivores is NOT allowed!
White meat: Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Quail, Rabbit
It counts as meat but max. It should appear in 10%: heart, crush (imagine if your dog would get a whole prey (eg chicken), how small a heart, crush would be).
Bone:
No cooked bone or load bearing bone is given !! Load bearing eg beef stalk, which is good for chews, but too much for a meal.
Eg: Chicken, duck, turkey, any part, quail, any part of a rabbit, fish (in the case of less-chewy, one-puppy dogs, avoid the tubular bones (chicken leg, wing), ribs
If possible, the easiest way to achieve this is to get your dog whole bone in a daily dose. If for some reason you can't eat bone at the same time, there are two options:
1. Minced Bone Meat (Beef, Rabbit, Lamb, Reindeer, Salmon, Chicken available at Miracle Bone BARFbolt)
2. Add the Calcium to the eggshell
Never leave our pet unattended when giving bone!
Tripe:
5% Liver
5% other (excretory) organ, eg: Kidney, spleen, brain, eye, testis, udder
Oily fish
15% of the total dose should be fish or one fish week is worth keeping. (Fish are introduced only after we have received at least 3 to 4 types of meat from our pet.)
What fish are worth giving?
Sardinia, Mackerel, Herring, Trout, Salmon, Wild Salmon only after 2 weeks of freezing!
If you can't get fish, you are advised to use salmon oil (omega 3, vitamin E)
Egg:
Chicken eggs can be given twice a week
Quail eggs on a cure-like basis (for 8 weeks) every day, followed by a break.
Vegetables, Fruits: Vegetables, fruits as a ballast aid in digestion and cleanse the intestines.
Free to give: Vegetable mix with greens, Christopherus Vegetable-fruit mix, apple, beet, cucumber, green bean, blueberry, mango, pea, zucchini, celery
In moderation: banana, spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, peach
Prohibited: mushrooms, onions, avocados, tomatoes
Zöldpacal : Add to muscle meat, 15% of the muscle part of the diet is good if you have green fries, in this case you do not need vegetables and fruits, because green fries contain digested herbs and there is no better thing for the dog!
Nutritional Supplements:
Dietary supplements are always given thoughtfully, for some “purpose”.
This may be the case during the weaning period, for example barm in the winter, good for the joints zöldkagylópor, collagen. Vitamin C facilitates the incorporation of collagen and is therefore worthwhile rosehip powder give. Spirulina, salmon oil, is superb for immune boosting. Effective digestion aids Pocak mix, the Symbiopet (a healthy bowel is a basic condition for a strong immune system !!) Baby Dog It is an excellent supplement to the raw diet, so you are sure to get all the nutrients, vitamins and trace elements you need. Diabetic dogs help to prevent cold blood pressure from fluctuating blood sugar levels organic coconut oil. Elderly Favorite Joints Support Good a Joint Aid complex joint protector, the green mussel, the MSM, collagen, Sprint R. To Treat Skin Symptoms in Allergy Puppies a Primrose oil provides a solution etc…
For cats, 0.5g of mussel powder per day covers your daily taurine requirement.
In most cases, supplements are given as a cure for 8 weeks, followed by a break for at least that time.
Ideally, we only add about 3 supplements at a time!
Carbohydrates:
It is basically not part of the raw diet. To maintain health, our pets need glucose, which they get from meat and fat (through a process called gluconeogenesis) to fill their glycogen stores. So carbohydrates like rice, pasta, bread etc. NO NEED.
However, for the fast replenishment of glycogen stores in athlete dogs and working dogs, Christopherus rice flour mix with vegetables.
