Dogs are definitely canine creatures, meaning that they tear flesh essentially for their diets. But as the best human friends, we have often fed them on human foods.
But of all human foods, never feed your dog on grapes and raisins and this is why you should not;
Grapes and raisins cause kidney failure in dogs. Eating as little as 0.4 ounces of grapes according to experts generate symptoms of renal complications requiring the immediate attention of a Vet.
The main clinical signs of grape and raisin poisoning in dogs are:
• Abdominal Pain
• Vomiting
• Not being able to pass urine
• Coma
• Loss of appetite
• Dehydration
• Weakness
If a Vet confirms grapes and raisin poisoning, he or she should carry out a urine analysis and blood test to help him to consider a range of available treatment for such poisoning.
Fruits that are safe for Dogs to eat;
• Water Melons
• bananas,
• pineapples
• oranges
• Mangoes
• Straw berries
• Apples
Great post! If you catch the dog eating grapes you should induce vomiting immediately and take it to your near veterinary hospital. The grape toxicity seems to be related to a fungus within the grapes.
