At 2pm, the home currency was trading at 64.06 a dollar, down 0.03% from its Tuesday’s close of 64.04. The rupee opened at 64.03 a dollar and touched a high and a low of 64.01 and 64.08, respectively.
On 6 December, RBI kept its interest rates unchanged, with five of the six committee members voting for the move and one voting for a cut.
The benchmark Sensex rose 0.04%, or 14.92 points, to 33,851.66. So far this year, it has gained 27%.
