Good night steemit friends.
Increasingly sophisticated technology makes humans can do anything in his mind.
In my post this time I want to share post #donalmarshall about cloning in humans.
I had read this article then I intend to post it here.
Let's read
Cloning has a negative view among religious people because they consider that the creation of a creature is God's duty. Some assume that people who are cloning are people who want to "play God" and they believe only God has the right to create a being.
Understanding Cloning
Cloning is a duplication of a living organism. Cloning is done by taking the basic embryo of a living thing, then giving instructions to the embryo in order to become a similar creature. The basic embryo can be obtained by taking a healthy cell from a human organ, then the cell is implanted in the uterus or elsewhere to grow it until the birth of the embryo. Cloning technology is inseparable from the various pros and cons of various parties both in terms of ethics, law, morals, norms and bebagai religion, especially in the State of Indonesia.
Cloning Background
Almost all countries believe that science and technology is one of the important factors in supporting the growth of the state, in other words the progress of a country is determined by its mastery of science and technology. Countries that do not master science and technology will be left behind from civilization. Science and technology today seem to be the ideology. A new technological invention has not been integrated into society, has reappeared yet another technology. This results in rapidly obsolete technology. One application of the field of biotechnology is often discussed that is cloning. In obstetrics and gynecology are associated with problems of birth, aging, reproduction and death that often invite ethical, legal and moral dilemmas. Ethics, morals and laws serve as guards for humanity, namely to keep humanity human, to human beings. These ethical, legal and moral clashes can occur because of different understandings of beliefs for each individual or group based on the point of view and importance.Often there is a gap between "what's right" and "what's best", between "wisdom" and "truth" linked to an increasingly dynamic level of public confidence including artificial reproduction techniques, especially in the case of cloning.
Cloning of human individuals is predicted to be done in 25 years at a very expensive cost because of the likelihood of success is very low. Given because of the uncertainty about the likelihood of occurrence and the magnitude of profit and loss, we must be careful about technology that can not be changed. These assessments can not be separated from the role of religion.
Religion is a major source of ethical consideration and evaluation. Among the many religious scholars who oppose human cloning, as well as among scientists, even Ian Wilmut himself as a pioneer of cloning individuals opposes if cloning is applied to humans. In a western country whose religious influence is greatly diminished by a societal process called secularization, religion is never overlooked in ethical debate. This ethical consideration and clarity is an invaluable input to the law. At the present time the scholars find that cloning of the human individual is unacceptable in terms of ethics, religion and law. Research toward individual cloning can not be justified. WHO claims that any use of cloning techniques to create identical humans is unacceptable because they are considered to violate some of the general principles governing the procreation of medical technology assisted.
Thus, it can be concluded that in terms of law, religion and ethics in Indonesia, the effort of pregnancy outside the natural way can not be done outside the legal couple, in other words the donor / substitute mother's participation in such efforts is illegal.
Along with technological developments, humans began to investigate how to make cloning of a living being. The goal also vary. But from these goals there are at least two major objectives why cloning is examined, ie for medicinal purposes and reproductive purposes.
A real example of natural cloning is the presence of twins from two pairs of brothers. They are identical in shape but different in behavior.
The Impact Of Cloning On Human Life
The impact of cloning is huge for humans, both positive and negative impacts. The debate about cloning among Western scholars continues to occur even in the case of animal cloning, let alone in terms of human cloning. The counter-cloning group was represented by George Annos (a health lawyer at the Boston university) and Pdt. Russel E. Saltzman (Lutheran church pastor).
Positive impact
The development of cloning technology has a huge impact on human life. Positive perceived impact is its application in the medical field as well as in agriculture and livestock. Among the advantages proposed by Ian Wilmut from the application of cloning technology is Cell therapy ie complete cells have been used to treat patients from several types of diseases, including leukemia and Parkinson's attacks.
Negative impact
The negative impact of human cloning is more about social aspects than biological aspects. Negative impacts that arise include:
The emergence of problems in positive law
Opens the possibility of crimes by commercializing human beings and human organs, such as the trading of human organs (including tissues and genes) and contracting parts of the human body for certain purposes that are contrary to the dignity and values of humanity.
