Me, a Certified Broke Girl

in #doodle8 days ago

So last night (03312025), I reconnected with some old friends and former colleagues. It’s been, what, five years? Wild isn't it?. It’s funny how you can go that long without communicating and then, boom! suddenly, you're chatting like no time has passed. We talked about life, work (or lack of it), and somewhere in between all the catching up. I cut the chase and the story short, why? it hit me...I’m so Caroline Channing now. BAM

Yeah, from 2 Broke Girls.

Not the pre broke, rich girl version. Nope. The post rich, struggling (ouch), side-hustle-hunting, figuring-life-out Caroline. And since explaining this in words felt like too much effort, I just doodled a sketch of her and sent it to my friends. No more explaining needed. One of them instantly got it and was like, "Okay, then I’m Max!" And just like that, 2 Broke Friends was born but my friend was not broke he has plans laid out for his career and future.

this is the doodle I made in less than five minutes

Are we starting a cupcake business? No. Are we making money? Also no. Are we fully embracing the broke-but-hustling energy? 100%. Yeah but that was only me.

Honestly, we or I have no clue what I am doing with my time or how to actually earn, but hey, at least we’re in this mess together. It’s weirdly comforting knowing I’m not the only one out here trying to figure things out although I must admit I am at a losing end.

So yeah. Thinking out loud: me, officially in my broke era. Let’s see where this goes.
