Is Doug Jones Alabama's 1st Black Senator..?

Doug Jones 1st black.jpg

Look... I don't know if Doug can dance.. I don't know if he can rap... I don't know if he has any baby mommas or if he's been followed around a store by an over zealous employee in hopes of stopping him from shoplifting. I don't know if Doug has a killer cross over or if he's ever snagged a one handed catch in the back of an endzone for a touchdown and celebrated by a pantomime of someone casting a vote. I don't know these things but, I do know that Doug brought out more Black folks to vote in Alabama than a new release of Jordan's 400 or whatever number they're on now...

In the image of an even lighter skinned Obama, Doug was in full social media, robo call, text message mode... sending me into an old school Black momma version of "look, don't you call this damn number no mo!"

Whether it was the real fear of a Roy Moore senate or the fact that Doug had visited more Black churches than those Martin Luther "the" King paper fans you'd see on every hood pew with a different funeral home sponsor on it. If the church had 2 or more members Doug was there... I mean.. where 2 or more are gathered... right?

Doug mixed in a little old school Black vote grabbing technique with a little new school "it's goin down in the DMs" swag.. did anybody have Doug Jones slide in your inbox with a "wyd" ...? No..? Just me..?

I don't know if Doug Jones is a super hero.. but I do know that by the response of Black folks days prior to the election, it seemed he was going to save us from diabetes and high blood pressure at the same damn time.

Doug even got a little gangster, threatening folks he'd out them if they didn't stop Roy Moore.. Doug sent voter report cards to my house reminding me of how horrible I performed in more recent elections.. c'mon Doug, I just got my freakin voting rights back Bro.. I'm black, we lose those from time to time.

I mean Doug IS from the ghetto.. his affiliation with the Alabama Democratic party is like living in the projects. Often voted the worst political party of all political parties in the nation, when it comes to power and funding. The Dems are seriously slumming it, often supporting their candidates with nothing more than a verbal endorsement and a " now go get 'em tiger!!" sans any check that could pay for the gas it takes to get home from said meeting.

So Doug is down with the brothers and sisters and he worked his plan like a charm... and he really needed them too. The Reddest of red states did not go without a fight.. ain't it bad enough The Tide has a Black QB? Not to mention, despite the horrendous allegations brought against his opponent, every trailer park to executive board came strong to make Alabama great again.. or at least continue it's umm greatness (that's for another Steemit).

My only disappointment from this entire political theatre, that ended up playing out all over the nation, is that Doug didn't wrap a big red black and green bow around his victory speech intro. I mean wouldn't it have been perfect if Doug and his Fam had come out blaring Cardi B's Bodak Yellow? I mean the 1st few bars would have been CLASSIC!!!
