You know what, you wouldn't be feeling like this if suddenly 3000 Seminoles said they wanted us to give Florida back to them, you'd tell them if they couldn't take it back to go fuck themselves My question is what does Israel have to gain by making a deal with the Palestinians? Deals are supposed to be good for both sides, not one. What can Palestein offer Israel to make Israel more likely to deal? My feelings on the issue aside, and I have them, Its rediculus for everyone to expect Israel to give up land without getting something in return. The Palestinians have been offered more than one two state solution, they were offered a two state solution in 1948 and went to war instead, they then lost that war and that two-state solution. Israel has been involved in at least 2 real wars against other arab nations since that time. And its won them, and it took land in the wars it didn't start and people ask Israel to give land it won in war back to Palestein because its the moral thing to do, I thought we'd accepted that generally countries who win land in a war get to keep it? Especially when they don't start the war?

how exactly does this analogy make sense? Palestine is asking for rule over palestinian areas. Israel is demanding the annexation of 300,000 palestinian arabs in east jerusalem. This is a jewish state we are talking about, demanding the control over the most important palestinian area, populated by arabs. It makes absolutely no sense. This is why the entire world community agrees that the areas should be ruled by palestinians, because the people are palestinians.

If Israel decided to no longer be a Jewish state then it could make some claim that it represents the arab people just as much as the jewish people. Then it could annex all the arab areas of palestine and have a state where all people are treated equally. So far Israel has refused to do this.

My question is what does Israel have to gain by making a deal with the Palestinians? Deals are supposed to be good for both sides, not one. If America occupies Mexico, it cant then say to the mexican resistance "yeah, well we dont leave until you give me something in return, make it worth my while". This is how exactly zero independence movements in history have happened.

I thought we'd accepted that generally countries who win land in a war get to keep it? Especially when they don't start the war?

First of all, Israel started the 1967 war where it won control of Palestine. The Arabs did not start it.

Secondly, no, you cant control foreign populations just because you won a war. America cant simultaneously control Mexico and be a White Protestant state. If you want to govern other populations you have to be a non-ethnic and secular state. israel is not that and refuses to be that, it has no business ruling foreign populations or colonizing foreign territory.

People aren't talking about being fair, they're talking about Israel killing kids.
