RE: You know SBI but do you remember Bernie Madoff Ponzi Scheme

in #downvotes5 years ago

No, in fact I don't even think 'wrong' is the right word to use at all. We are talking about tech, about code, you would make more sense thinking about 'permitted' or 'not permitted'.

I am permitted, by code, to do what I want with my stake. And so are you. If I wanted to go about not permitting you to downvote me, I would have to change the code. If you wanted to go about not permitting someone of buying votes, I would challenge you to think how that would even be possible. You can use your stake to disuade or disincentivize all you want, but you can never disallow.

In terms of morality - 'right vs wrong' - I'm not sure what you aim to achieve by implanting it with downvotes.

same here, as you said

Yes. And you should also accept responsibility for what you are doing. None of us is getting downvotes from you because we 'buy votes' or for any other reason other than - 'You feel like it'

Are you on discord or Steem.chat?

steem.chat, but I prefer public comments

Fair enough. I just had some questions about your reasoning.

Is your focus on those who “buy” sbi shares for others, otherwise known as buying them a vote? I’ve tried to catch up over comments and posts, but it’s a lot of dis fragmented information. You recently removed a witness vote for the c-squared curation group, and I was told it was for voting the open letter video about the downvoting.. made me curious what was going on so came to look.. and well, it left me with more questions.

It seems every time you try to speak, individuals respond in ways that make it hard to have a conversation, so I thought I would see if you were on any chat apps, but am ok with public comments too and respect that actually quite a bit.

Anywho, comment if you like.. or find me on Steem.chat @justineh

Have a good day.

All my downvotes are manual and goes to "sponsors" who are trying to get in the ring new members and increase own ranking in the circle. They know how to avoid downvotes but they keep sending STEEM to steembasicincome account, their choice

Now, tristancarax spent 200 STEEM for vote buying and wrote a post about it, c-squared upvoted his post. I don't want to have anything to do with witnesses who are supporting #oldsteem.

Do you manually downvote based on the vote amount they received or just full throttle?

I won’t argue with you about c-squared supporting “oldsteem” as we were “newsteem” from the day we were formed.. didn’t even need a hardfork to make us act in the best interest of the platform. If you knew anything about the project, that would be abundantly clear. But quite frankly you can vote for whatever witnesses you want, I won’t argue with that part and we don’t really campaign for votes anyways - I was just curious your reasoning.

I don’t disagree with downvoting those buying votes, no matter what they call it, I would say that downvoting a post that received a 7cent vote for something over and above 7cents seems quite harsh though. Most of these votes are done away by the curve anyways.

Anyways, thanks for the explanation.. I was just curious your reasoning. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it.

Are you C-S curator/account owner? Let's make a deal. C-S will remove this controversial vote, I will approve C-S again.

Ps. Just trying. In fact, I support with my witness vote all major curation groups, because some time ago I realized that most of the people here "jerking in own circles" and doesn't care about content discovery

Why are earth do you want us to collect more evidence against you, @
mmmmkkkk311? Quite confident for someone who hasn't been able to keep their story straight throughout any of the threads. Weird, but okay. You do you.

Why would you respond to his comment to me? Take your rage elsewhere, perhaps your own post or comments. Pretty sure individuals are still allowed to comment on this platform.. if you don’t like it, use those downvotes bro 🙂

Rage isn't quite the right word but I do see your point. I'll agree that I am pissed. This dude steps on people like me because he has money and doesn't care about others, only himself. This type of stuff has never sat well with me and I do speak up and out against it, even if he continues to take the pennies I earn for the hours of work I usually have put into a post, beside a freewrite where the whole point is to do the best you can in x amount of time but even those may take an hour or more.

He keeps hoping around and if/when he does speak to people, his story keeps changing slightly. Very fishy. I've been around people like this before and they are a drain on society.

Not gonna use a down vote. Why would I? I seek peace not this continued war the dude has made against an entire community for receiving pennies.

Maybe, quite possibly/probably, my tacked is a bit off. I'll sit back and learn but if he goes on some bs, I'll find it in his own comments where he stated otherwise and post it here.

I understand your frustration completely and believe it’s one of the hurdles of a shared inflation pool, and a complete misunderstanding of how it works by most users.

It’s like we are all playing in one sandbox, with different goals etc.

I came here to ask a question, as while I fully support using ones stake to allocate that shared inflation to what they see adds value (or reallocating in the case of downvotes), I generally like to know the why. Why gives a possible avenue for a solution that benefits all.
