I voted this way simply because I am interested in what you're talking about here, but really neither option fits what I would answer.
In answering your question whether or not I am using money appropriately, I would say somewhat, but that I would like to do much better than I am. The story about the man who takes out the loan despite all the money in his account so he can park his Rolls Royce is the kind of out of the box thinking I like to do. If it were just me, I would try those kinds of financial ideas more, but I also feel I need to consider the feelings of my wife and do at least some of the things she would like me to do. So, there's some compromise involved that might not actually benefit us financially, but it keeps the marriage going. :) If her patience would outlast my long term financial goals, i'd definitely do more of them, but she doesn't have thirty years of patience. Not for that sort of thing.
