RE: Do You Think HF21 Will/Would Change Your Curation/Upvoting Behavior If You Have/Had High SP?

Hey, @vimukthi.

Thanks for the answers. Greatly appreciated.

You and I are in sync when it comes to what we're currently doing and what we do with more SP. Which basically means, it's not so much a matter of economic incentive as it is a matter of doing it the way we feel it should be done. Or at least that's how I feel about it. I guess I shouldn't be saying how you feel about it. :)

Personally I've never really cared about curation. That is why this whole EIP seem like something between a waste of resources that should have gone for SMT development and a downgrade for STEEM. I vote because I want to reward someone and I hope they keep creating more of the content I like. Giving more than 35% for curation is madness IMO.

What I actually believe in is DAPP based curation that doesn't employ a once size fits all protocol changes. Just take a look at this:

That is one DAPP distributing $300+ in the bear market which could have been $5000 during the last bull market. @steemhunt use HUNT Score system to pick higher quality posts and comments. @utopian-io use manual reviews. @dundition was doing a good job too. If we had few DAPPs like this for various niches with Steemit Inc properly delegating their SP, we could have mostly solved the perceived "problem".

Hey, @vimukthi.

Thanks for answering and providing the analysis. :)

I've wondered myself if the problem hasn't been blown out of proportion somewhat, since this is something that seemingly has been brought up by high SP whom at least some have been contributing to the very problem they purportedly now wanting to fix. So, we'll see.

I agree that actual curation by dApps rather than a usage reward would be better. The problem is, since STEEM isn't set up to fund dApps, we have them falling by the way or moving on somewhere else, or not manually curating because they can't keep up with costs. Or that's at least how I perceive things.

So, leaving more of this in the hands of the dApps is definitely an option, but those dApps need to have better business models or funding before they arrive here. Or, they will have to take advantage of the SPS, actually get funding, so they can continue to do what they're doing.
