There is so much left to explore! I know very little, if anything, about Hungarian food, and the only gyros I've had were probably from Arby's or something, so not very representative of the actual Greek.
My guess is it happens everywhere, but there's this tendency to craft food to fit the "American" palate that I wish they would just stop. Mexican food is so much better when it's just straight up Mexican, and I'm assuming it would be the same way for every other food made elsewhere. :)
