Those guys used to eat my cacti. They would leave chomping mouth bites in the cacti ears. I would see them out in the desert covered in needles but they don't seem to care about them at all.
Legal reasons? Lol its just a link to an arizona wildlife rehab facility that shows a pic of a baby javelina. Here's a youtube of a baby one someone found orphaned in the desert.

Whats a few needles...
Poor cactus though!
They tend to prefer rosebushes more than cacti though. My neighbor had all her roses eaten down to stalks thorns and all.
