If he can use something from the stand he can leave one coin as a payment, (he definately shouldn’t take anything without paying, he would already lower his reputation below zero lol) perhaps there is a knife, or even a gun, that would be useful, or some kind of thread or rope to use as a guide to get back once he enters the maze.
