I shot these photographs last summer in Aberdeen, Washington which is not quite two hours from here and the place where Kurt Cobain of Nirvana grew up.

These pics are all taken in a long alley in the center of town.
You see a small painting of Kurt as a boy in this one on the right.
This last one is a picture of the yellow brick road characters I found at the Raymond thrift-store on my way up. I stopped there first because they close at four sharp and I almost always find some cool treasure there.
Last time, (after this trip) a bolo tie with a silver & turquoise slide and two great silver bracelets :) Yes, all in need of being polished, but well worth $15! Anyway, everyone, including Toto were in the set except for the tin man! I guess that someone needed a heart, or wanted to give that one as a gift? The dolls were stuffed into a freezer bag and marked $5 (quite a steal if you ask me, if even only for this photo shoot on my kitchen table looking into my laundry room).
One thing I always remember Kurt saying, loved hearing him say, in an interview somewhere was that how after he was rich and famous thrift-stores lost their appeal for him, that there was no longer any fun in going into a place and scoring some treasure such as the bolo tie I got, or a great seventies trucker belt when he knew he could buy the entire shop :(
Rest in Peace, Kurt and I hope all of you enjoyed the visual, cyber, graffiti field trip!
