I have watched a TV show in our city television broadcast company and they have mentioned a statement which is Going to the university = Away from Poor. However, the people in the show seems not so agree this statement and they think university is useless for earning money and away from anything.
Going to the university or having a degree is not really that bad as your starting point will be much different to people who don't, perhaps slightly. Also, your personal feeling might be better after those studies but here is what I think:
University is in the education system which is a system to push people to labor force, not making your dreams come true or rich. If you have read rich dad series, you want know that is a scam and crazy story that everyone believe.
What do you think about poor? Just without money? Then you can work almost 24 hours and earning so much money but you do not have time to use those or maintain health, you can read lots of news that people are dead because of work, over-work. However, if your concept of being not poor is having money and time, the time that you can go out for having better life, yes, WORK LIFE BALANCE like they said. Getting a job is not a full part of your plan.

Back to the Topic, so is it right to the statement? It seems going to university just allowing us to be an employee, what if I do not go to work then. Yes, you figure it out, that is a trick of Linear Thinking. There is nothing a linear thinking in the world, going to university is not equal to be rich or be poor. The part of being poor or rich is depends on your thinking and your passion, or hardworking, if you do nothing for that, what else do you want to achieve?
