What comes to your mind when you heard the word tuyo? Well, guys it is named in Cebuano vernacular word called "buwad" or " dried fish" in English. This is the cheapest foods for Cebuanos. You can see many tuyo or buwad in the place of people in the Taboan Market, Cebu City, Philippines. You can see here cheapest tuyo ever very affordable for your pocket.

This is our appetizer among Cebuanos. These serves us food that will suit in our palatable taste. According to Mr. Google the fresh fish rapidly deteriorates unless some way can be found to preserve it.

Drying is a method of food preservation that works by removing water from the food, which inhibits the growth of microorganisms. In drying fish it should be in an open air drying area using sun and wind has been practiced since ancient times to preserve food.

Drying fish is the ancient styles that still practice of the people of most Cebuanos now adays. Water is usaully removed by evaporation(air drying, sun drying, smoking or wind drying) but, in the case of freeze-drying, food is first froozen and then the water is removed by sublimation.

Thanks @minitotz for sharing this. In spite of having pungent smell most people love having dry fish ( I am one of them 😜) . We mostly make chutney out of that.
