I have to get a drone one day, I know I always say it, but next Spring for sure. I'll have all sorts of adventures buzzing about our neighbours and spying on deer and fish.
The reach depends on the drone and the used battery, your flight style and also the altitude and temperature you operate the drone. With my current setup I get flight times up to 7-8 minutes so I need to make sure to turn around in time in order to get the drone back. With these flight times I can get as far as 3.5 km and back. The radio/videos system, however, is capable of much larger ranges.

With my current setup I can fly as far as 3km and back, less if I'm flying fast or in a higher altitude.
You could make wonderful articles combining the austrian alps also the lakes up there.. Fantastic!
