That thing is tiny! I have the Spark which has been serving me well as I take it all around the central California coast. Biggest downside is the short (~8 minute) battery life. I've recently been using it to fly out to islands/rocks off the coast to get a closer look.
Personally I find the line-of-sight (and to a lesser extent the 400 ft) rule absurd, especially since this drone and the spark are so tiny. When I fly near big mountains I bend the 400 ft rule a bit, since I'm technically lower than nearby terrain and nobody is flying that close to a mountain anyway.
Keep in mind that if you are from the US you need a FCC *FAA registration (it's $5 or so) to post images from drones on monetized blogs. That is the only reason I haven't shared my pictures here yet, because I'm too lazy to actually deal with the bureaucracy and get the license (it's legal to fly for fun without the registration).
Do you mean FAA, rather than FCC?
Yes I do, sorry! Been looking up too many radio restrictions lately ...
