I painted this a few years ago; it is a small painting - only 6 x 6 inches. A gallery in Chicago had passed out little pieces of masonite to many artists, and asked all of us to use only blue in our paintings. I didn't like the ultra smooth surface, so I glued a piece of canvas to it to give it a bit of a tooth. I did a few of them.
Sometimes I think hands have as much personality as faces; these were the hands of an Indian woman.

Greetings @kathleenscarboro.
What a lovely painting.....the size of it, the detail, compositon and subject matter are so very intriguing, beautiful work.
Thank you.
Wishing you and yours a lovely weekend. ^__^

Hoping you had a great weekend too.
I love this very much, @kathleenscarboro
It looks like a gentle clasp, repeated against by the knot of the ribbons, layered, a warm touch.
the blue makes it feel very tender :)
Thank you @veryspider, close-ups are always fun to do.

Whoa, it is all painted in blue, what an interesting exercise. I like it, the colour certainly adds a kind of moodiness into the painting :).
Yes, many participated and it was a very pretty exhibit.

I like to see such small details as the ring and the bracelet. It looks like those hands are married to some other hands :) They are perfectly relaxed and resting. Great painting Kathleen. I like to see something different from your collection :) Thank you for sharing!
Thank you @delishtreats; I always appreciate your thoughtful comments.
