"More than amazing"

It is not just beyond.

Welcome back to our weekly Drop in the Ocean post where we feature the amazing content that was created for the show.

This weeks topic was Astonish, not to be taken likely in its effect when used. This word has many synonyms that many prefer to use in their daily lives, astonish seems to be one that gets reserved for things that are truly jaw-dropping. Beyond wonder, or amaze, a word not heard often but treated with grace. It is astonishing how we go about our days maybe missing so many moments that would give this word a use case.

However, you may use it be it to share true surprise or false amazement. Astonish that can describe even things from our wildest imaginations.

To see what we discussed during the show, you have to keep reading. Visit the posts and show some support while you dive deep into the topic of astonishment from this weeks Drop in the Ocean show.

This weeks posts.

The top two voted writers will 'level up'. When a member has levelled up, they will receive a daily upvote from the BuddyUP account at 50%. The member keeps their level for 2 weeks, unless they level up again on DITO within those 2 weeks. Every time you level up, you will receive an additional 10% on your daily vote, maxing out at level 5.

The writer with the most votes will be resteemed straight after this post. This is so we can all look back at the BuddyUP blog and see the winning posts from each week.

If you are wondering how you can join the Drop in the Ocean show, you will find all the required information at the bottom of this post.

@JuliaMulcahy

The ability to have a story unfold based on a single word is something you will appreciate of Julia as she takes us on another literary journey.

She unfolds this weeks word by providing us with a map of usage and history while also sharing meaning that can only be felt. @JuliaMulcahy makes a path we can follow as she shares something truly astonishing.

I'm looking into a word, one word for a whole week. Where will this word take me? What sweet adventures will I have.

Reading her words, you can't help but feel her energy. Her awe of this word, which she shares with us so we may share in the inspiration it brings. Playful and informative the little voice will leave you astonished. - Read her post now.

@AudreyBits

Starting your day on a bad note is a sure fire way to want to crawl back into bed, unfortunately, a person very rarely has that luxury.

@AudreyBits shares a wonderful story about such a day, one where things seem to just not go your way. This can really dampen a persons spirit, making even the most cheerful turn dour.

But her greeting was answered with a request, “ Thank God you are awake, can you help me do my laundry today, I have meetings and appointments that I need to keep up with”.

Her tale, beautifully written, shares a story which perfectly demonstrates astonishment in a relatable and meaningful way. To see what she shares and how it turns out - head over to read her post now.

Our runners-up for this week

Thank you to everyone who was at the show and contributed their posts on our topic of the week. Every post and person that joins in makes Drop in the Ocean worth having.

So where are the rest of the posts?

@YouHaveWings

Inspiring us all to look beyond ourselves and truly see the wonders that surround us not just outside of our own being but within ourselves, @YouHavewings shares her view on astonish and what truly astonishes her.

Life is Astonishing

@TheHive

This week @TheHive may have had his most challenging word yet. Being unsure regarding the usage of the word astonish over seemingly more appropriate words or phrases, @TheHive still provides us with a great example which we can all relate to.

The Hive This weeks word. Astonish

@Monchhichi23

A more personal poem, beautiful and filled with meaning. @Monchhichi23 shares what she finds astonishing from her time being on the platform and communities she is in, I am sure many of us can share this sentiment.

You Astonish Me

@Penderis

If anyone is out there, please save us from this persons tyranny. Shhh, here he comes.

Good to be Bad

How do you get involved?

Have you been reading through and wondering how you can get involved with our community/show? Below I've listed the steps to take, so you can jump into the action and share your perspective and views, with all of us here at BuddyUP.

  • Head over to our BuddyUP server. You can do this by following the SafeLink post here.

  • Think about the topic for next week, which is...

Perception

  • Write a post about that topic then publish it on Sunday or early Monday so we may have a chance to read your post in time. Once published come by to the Drop in the Ocean show on Monday (20:00 UTC) to present it and join the conversation.

  • You are welcome to bring with a post on the topic from any other sources which you feel will contribute to the discussion. Bring a friend, bring a post and bring yourself.

The final and the most important piece of information is... do not publish your post until Sunday or Monday. This is so we can give you all the best amount of exposure possible on your posts and also so you get paid out on the day of the show; so you can come back with an even bigger smile on your face!
